CREATIVE VERSUS REACTIVE LEADERSHIP

Firstly, it's a spectrum, none of us are fully creative nor reactive in our leadership style, we all have of elements of both.

Let's first explain what we mean with creative and reactive leadership.

Reactive leadership describes a leadership style that primarily operates from a position of fear, fear to lose our  sense of safety.

When sense of safety is challenged a reactive leader tends to instinctively behave in ways to mitigate the threat.

For some it's to become overly compliant and pleasing, others become overly controlling and autocratic, yet some become protective and arrogant.

Reactive leadership costs of lot of energy and reactive leaders tend to become lonely as it's not much fun to work for these leaders.

Creative leadership describes a leadership style that primarily operates from position of authenticity, courage and curiosity.

Creative leaders have sense of purpose that calls stronger than their need for ego safety. These leaders show up with integrity and lead by engaging others to join their journey and by enabling others to create.

The Leadership Circle Profile maps both your Relationship behaviours, that's how you relate to those you interact with on a daily basis, and your Task behaviours, that's your ability and style through which you engage with work, across the spectrum of Creative and Reactive leadership.

Creative Competencies

The top half of the circle maps Creative Competencies that contribute to a leader’s effectiveness.

They measure how you achieve results, bring out the best in others, lead with vision, enhance your own development, act with integrity, and improve organisational systems.

Reactive Tendencies

The lower half of the circle maps self-limiting Reactive tendencies and leadership behaviours. The Reactive tendencies emphasise caution over creating results, self protection over productive engagement, aggression over building alignment, and control over collaboration.

Leadership Circle Profile + Executive Coaching


Four coaching sessions to help you transform your leadership impact.

Session 1 - Intake

We'll start with a 45 min intake session we're will lay the foundation by discussing your current leadership context, explain the Leadership Circle Profile, and what you need to think of inviting respondents.

Session 2 - Debrief

After your Leadership Circle Profile is completed we'll meet for a 90 min debrief where we deep dive into your results and uncover your leadership development opportunities. We'll close the session with initial thoughts on your developmental edge.

Session 3 - Co-creation

After you've had some time to go deeper into you results, maybe had a chance to clarify some findings, and started to experiment on your developmental edge, we'll meet for 45 min to co-create a focused developmental plan.

Session 4 - Calibration

Three to four weeks later we will have a 45 min calibration session discussing what's been working well, where we need to adjust your plan, and celebrate your progress towards greater leadership impact.
